After The Storm

We’ve heard of the calm before the storm;
that sign of peace that preceeds disaster;
perhaps our thinking is in need of reform;
we should consider the calm that comes after.

Storms consist of the challenges we’ve faced;
every one of them:  a complete life disaster.
So, how will we feel when those are erased;
and the enormity of peace that comes after?

There’s disharmony; a schism in the air, before;
we feel like life’s writing a new chapter;
but after it’s gone; and all blows o-er;
we’ll fashion a new life, thereafter.

It’s easy to see storms as a Mataphor;
of the challenges in life we face;
a picture illusion of what storms are for.
To learn we must strive to embrace.

Some storms don’t even have rain;
and others; no clouds to adorn;
some that thunder and lightning refrain;
these are sunny days; forlorn.

For storms aren’t weather manifestations;
they’re when emotional turmoil surrounds;
and also renditions of love’s cessations;
when the complexity of Love, confounds.

Though we think such storms break us;
it began the very moment we’re born;
but it’s not meant to remake us;
for it’s life, itself, that’s the storm.
