Actor Without Applause

I feel like an actor on a movie stage;
my script has already been written;
my thoughts determine how I engage;
tho some thoughts are forbidden.

Like others, granted freedom of choice;
I can determine who I’m to be;
a wise man listens for the Master’s voice;
for only God has the eyes to see.

The present is the only time, I’m given;
the past has already come and gone;
all futures require; that I be forgiven;
so that my love may live on.

Why do we try to hide who we are;
does it impede who we’re to be;
must we be known; wide and far;
in order to feel secure and free?

Pride enters in; to give us our reasons;
no one is alive, without purpose;
all are granted a number of seasons;
to allow our love to surface.

Pride makes us be the great pretender;
believing we’re something we’re not;
as prodigals; we’re the ultimate offender;
forsaking the love; God begot.

We are love; without reason to hide;
love’s enormity makes us pause;
within God’s perfection; all shall abide;
no actor deserves the applause.
