A World Without Love
This world has become almost austere;
as darkness descends, from above;
the most predominant energy is fear;
living in a world without love.
Competition is now, the order of the day;
as the world becomes torn apart;
while division continues to gain sway;
we’re each a part of God’s heart.
Love is the bond that holds lives together;
without it; division and hate abide;
love is not malleable; like the weather;
it was for love; the Master died.
We witness its power, in our old age;
when love becomes our past;
loneliness comes as life turns a page;
memories, alone, can’t last.
Slogans and opinions can’t long endure;
everything tends to ebb and flow;
there is no power; like a love that’s secure;
without it; life cannot grow,
Love is the passion; required for life;
without love; no life can exist;
now, I’m too old to attract a new wife;
it’s been years, since I was kissed.
This world has become a kingdom of fear;
as darkness descends, from above;
heartaches are hidden; within every tear;
living in a world without love.
