A Wasted Life
A Wasted Life
So much of my life I’d like to forget;
many choices, I made, were wrong;
there’s much, in my past, that I regret;
I no longer believe I belong.
Often, my life seems like one big mistake;
like an ocean wave saturating the beach;
leaving sadness and regret, in my wake;
with success in my life, out of reach.
I loved so many, but they’ll never know;
for, I rarely told them how much;
becoming all alone, forced me to grow;
but, now I long for a woman’s touch.
None can accomplish, what can’t be defined;
all must be exposed to the Light;
my life hasn’t gone, as I had designed;
and, it slowly dissolved into night.
Life is the most precious gift ever given;
not even a moment should be wasted;
to sharing thoughts of love, I’m driven;
and, the fruits of love, I’ve now tasted.
No life, that has ever lived, was wasted;
so long as lived till the very last breath;
the desire to change, is success, tasted;
even when the victory occurs by death.
No life has ever been born without purpose;
there are always reasons, beyond we know;
most of reality happens neath the surface;
even compost, causes flowers to grow.
