A Useless Epitaph

Death has come; another life moves on;
useless prose; on a family’s behalf;
a countless lifetime, of memories, gone;
summarized by a useless epitaph.

How can we describe an entire lifetime;
in a few short words, or phrases;
all the memories, those words enshrine;
take, but a few, of life’s pages.

Words can’t express all the love and hate;
experienced by the dearly departed;
no flood, of our tears, can begin to relate;
a lifetime, that barely had started.

Grief is the ocean for all of our tears;
often it steals our breath away;
memories are a summary of the years;
seems it was only yesterday.

It matters little what others may say;
one loved, by God, has moved on;
a day of grief, is just another today;
it’s always darkest, before dawn.

Earth is a kingdom, dedicated to sorrow;
where everyone reaps what they sow;
all hope and pray for a better tomorrow;
death allows new life to grow.

Death has come; another life moved on;
useless prose; on a family’s behalf;
a countless lifetime, of memories, gone;
summarized by a useless epitaph.
