Today, I took a taste of life;
my palate sensing it’s flavor;
even tho embracing strife;
each single experience, savor.

Awakened; emerging from my cocoon;
the death of nighttime, now gone;
this new day couldn’t come too soon;
for I was ready for life to go on.

Yesterday has gone and is past;
the taste of it, is no longer there;
I cannot dwell on what can’t last;
even though I still care.

Each new day; a world all it’s own;
many wonders to be uncovered;
the evil within, I cannot condone;
but there’s beauty to be discovered.

All of creation is a great blessing;
both, night, and morning’s dawn;
sleep is the time; past, caressing;
but day is the time to move on.

Life is where our soul must learn;
experience is our instructor;
there remains much we need discern;
we’re the orchestra; not the conductor.

Tho life’s music doesn’t suit our taste;
we need to dance to life’s tune;
for nothing is ever totally erased;
and, quickly, December becomes June.

Some of life’s best, is near it’s end;
especially, since it’s fashioned above;
one you find, becomes just a friend;
then blossoms into an unending love.
