A Senseless Mind

Do you know for certain that others exist;
perhaps, they’re only thoughts on the mind;
consider those senses of which you consist;
is it by them, that reality’s defined?

Neither of your eyes really see anything;
they only allow light to flow in;
So, just what is it, to reality they bring;
can they tell where that light begins?

Perhaps a sound will figure it all out;
does the mind decipher it too?
Or, perhaps touch can eliminate doubt;
can a touch help to give you a clue?

The mind determines which senses are relevant;
common sense is the only one that matters;
a mind could tell you the world’s a white elephant;
and physical world theories, all become tatters.

Do you think this physical world exists;
how can you possibly know?
Why doesn’t last night’s dream persist;
where did it finally go?

The truth of reality is all in your mind;
all senses report, directly to him;
only by the mind is your reality defined;
and your mind has been left at the gym.

If those senses can’t see, touch or hear;
maybe, there’s really no one out there;
if mind is numbed from the latest beer;
it’s most likely you no longer care.
