A Seed Of Love
Many attempt, their love to define;
with sweet scents and musical notes;
others use dinners followed by wine;
and most cleverly devised quotes.
Most, unaware how love is planted;
a seed, sown deep in the mind;
or how it can grow and is granted;
by such things, love is defined.
Many think appearance is everything;
ignoring true beauty that lies within;
oblivious to what faithfulness brings;
more worried about a funny grin.
Honesty and loyalty make solid roots;
for the growth of the plant called love;
making it blossom and yield good fruits;
and connection with the kingdom above.
Devious insects oft threaten invasion;
infidelity is their stock in trade;
using wiles and friendly persuasion;
they steal all the fruits, love made.
Love deeply grounded within the mind;
can’t be tempted by others to choose;
when by deep thought, love is defined;
there’s always too much to lose.
Love always requires constant attention;
that part of the mind must be fed;
in the end, allow me to mention:
a plant without water is dead.
