A Red Rose
A Red Rose
A red rose is a most beautiful flower;
protected by thorns on its stem;
who’d believe; it’s a metaphor of power;
a symbol of the man from Bethlehem.
Like that man; the rose was perfection;
created in the heavens above;
thorns on its stem; provided protection;
tho the flower is a symbol of love.
The scent of the rose is unmistakeable;
drawing a crowd to its midst;
the Master’s disciples’ love; unbreakable;
till Judas betrayed, with a kiss.
The rose, stood out in the garden, above;
the Master; in the garden below;
both, have become the symbol of love;
for, love has the power to grow.
Thorns represent the trials of perfection;
tragedies and sorrows are seasons;
all are symbolic of the sting of rejection;
perfection has its own reasons.
There is one perfect; from heaven above;
generating love; not wrath;
the Son, himself; is the Father of Love;
and He bids we follow His path.
A red rose is the picture of creation;
its petals; the color of blood;
a crown of thorns led to salvation;
from a cross planted in mud.
