A Quest For Two Words

In this life we’ve embarked on a quest;
seeking a love that is rich and pure;
a treasure founded on righteousness;
perfection has its own allure.

Thou we seek riches beyond all compare;
we’re challenged by the evil of pride;
the heart of a servant shall take us there;
once, all of our pride has died.

We must never seek a earthly throne;
arrogance breeds temptation;
our trust must be in the Master, alone;
for, in God is our salvation.

In our hearts and minds, we speak to God;
hoping that He will audibly reply;
we desire to be, like two peas in a pod;
seeking two words when we die.

Those two words are like priceless jewels;
or rainbows of promises from above;
not to be whispered to scoundrels or fools;
they carry the promise of God’s love.

Each of us lives to please our Father, above;
sent to earth to teach us to grow;
those, unable to forgive and to love,
are destined to reap what they sow.

Our Father commanded we love and forgive;
faith returns us to where we’d begun;
to all who died; tho truly learning to live;
the Master replied, “Well done!”
