Governments are the greatest source of abuse;
that mankind has permitted to exist;
“for the greater good of all” is the excuse;
for allowing them all to persist.
If mankind were all inherently good;
we’d require none, to take God’s role;
but, since the truth of evil’s understood;
we’ve consented evil be given our soul.
Governments are run by career politicians;
seeking a lifetime of priviledge and power;
spouting platitudes and forming commissions;
rarely allowing any truths to flower.
Usually the most arrogant and greedy apply;
“Follow me” is the siren song, they pitch;
and the one trait they have, on which to rely;
they were voted most likely to land in a ditch.
All governments are designed to choose;
in what stratum, we each should fit;
they plan to decide who shall win, or lose;
by the tax scheme they carefully knit.
Many seek government’s welcoming hand;
to tip life’s scales in their favor;
but, before any, can present their demand;
they allow all politicians a waiver.
Beware of those who pillory the rich;
for they aren’t the poor man’s friend;;
the middle class, they’d like to ditch;
for they, Are The Rich, in the end.
