A Measure Of You
Dear Lord, I humbly pray and beseach;
on this; another new day;
lacking wisdom; to you, I reach;
Lord, please light my way.
I stumble and fall; on my eternal path;
not knowing what to do or to say;
you’ve given love; when I deserved wrath;
Lord, continue to light my way.
Nothing is too great, with you at my side;
no burden or task too tall;
give me your strength; that I might abide;
and lift me up, when I fall.
It should be no mystery, why I have pride;
ultimately, there’s nothing I can’t do;
your wisdom is hidden, very deep inside;
within me; there’s a measure of you.
Within us; concealed; is the wisdom of the ages;
your book of life; you’ve already written;
I pray that you keep me on one of its pages;
and thank you, that I’ve been forgiven.
To all you created; you’ve given talents;
rained down from your glory, above;
grant us the wisdom, our lives to balance;
but, most of all; teach us to love.
Lord, you commanded, we must forgive;
in order to become made new;
your power is within us; each day we live;
within us, is a measure of you.
