A Love Letter To Eve

We’ve been in love, for a million lifetimes;
predestined to remain so, forever;
living out countless separate lifelines;
where, our love, we chose to sever.

Today, you see love, in another’s eyes;
while I still see love, within yours;
imagine, in heaven, our mutual surprise;
faithfullness exceeds love’s wars,

Today, you feel love, in the arms of another;
while I reside in a desolate estate;
you can’t even imagine me, as your lover;
in this life; you were born too late.

Today, I’m simply overwhelmed by sadness;
realizing you’re no longer there;
divisions facilitate an unspeakable madness;
and yet; I know you still care.

Love wasn’t ever meant to be a competition;
tho I feel the sting of a love that’s gone;
someday, in heaven, we will sense recognition;
and the love we shared shall live on.

Today you’re in love with another good man;
although, both of you, belong to another;
he is a precious gift from the Lord, the I Am;
each of you needed a temporary lover.

Tho you don’t love me, in this life pattern;
its truth you cannot conceive;
in heaven; I’ll, once again, be your Adam;
and you’ll be my precious Eve.
