A Lonely Place

A Lonely Place

It seems, I’ve taken leave of this reality;
my thoughts, floating in empty space;
mindful there’s no true death or finality;
this in-between world is a lonely place.

I can see all the people coming and going;
but, what is their final destination;
my mind whispers, that they are growing;
which only adds to my consternation.

Surely there must be an eternal purpose;
leading them on a path to discovery;
but, I’ve yet to see their reasons surface;
they are wanderers; awaiting recovery.

A journey is useless; without destination;
wandering aimlessly into the night;
prodigals of hope; in fear of damnation;
seeking the ultimate truth and Light.

Faith and hope are the obvious solution;
I’ve spent a life; in a world; dying;
truth has shown me the logical conclusion;
death is change; there’s no use crying.

My body still resides on the planet earth;
although, it’s in constant decay;
God will return me to my place of birth;
truth shall show me the way

It seems, I’ve taken leave of this reality;
my thoughts, envisioning God’s face;
mindful there’s no true death or finality;
this in-between world is a lonely place.
