A Late Life Crush
What is it that causes a mind to wander;
magnetically drawn to what we miss
how can logic; have been torn asunder;
daydreaming of a passionate kiss?
How are we mystically, romantically drawn;
what is the eternal energy link?
Two souls joined together from now on;
through love; two souls are in sync.
Although the body grows hopelessly old;
the mind initially rejects this illusion;
its energy of love makes us grow bold;
and draw the obvious conclusion.
We’re imprisioned in a temporary illusion;
a holographic kingdom of Light;
the mind of our soul engulfed in confusion;
seeking respite from the night.
We are living two lives, simultaneously;
we live in both body and mind;
they share existance, contemporaneously;
until, death, leaves one behind.
Within the body, we long for another;
the soul makes its choice, too;
the body, a friend; the soul; a lover;
only love of the soul is true.
Love, in marriage, oft becomes one-sided;
because it was never meant to be;
for one of the souls; it was unrequited;
time and age give us eyes to see.
This life is our time to live out our mistakes;
no true love is ever really requited;
no marriage is broken, by simply bad breaks;
true love is two souls, united.
Late in this life; I have the benefit of age;
our faith is our connection, above;
my soul takes in the knowledge of a sage;
and my late life crush is love.
