A Hill To Die On

Most people like to avoid confrontation;
they consider it not worth their trouble;
mulling thoughts, after much deliberation;
so many issues, can often befuddle.

So, we often decide to just walk away;
most of these issues will never be gone;
and as we’re leaving, we turn back to say:
“This just isn’t a hill to die on.”

Evil; years ago, sanctioned death for a child;
before even born, innocence was gone;
though many of us were totally reviled;
It just wasn’t a hill to die on.

We all think we’re building a heaven on earth;
where everyone will love all others;
some saying such;  before my birth;
are now making children their lovers.

We think that evil cannot grow much worse;
but evil has plans, we can’t even imagine;
evil wishes to place God in a hearse;
and grant us a life, we can’t fathom.

Rebellion on earth had reached full swing;
evil had mounted its imaginary throne;
the Master, realizing what evil would bring;
knew He couldn’t leave evil alone.

The Lord God, the Master of Creation;
refused to allow all Life to be gone;
He sacrificed Himself to grant Salvation;
for, the Lord of All found the hill to die on.
