A Grain Of Sand
We’re as grains of sand on the beach;
each, a part of the whole which is sand;
there is no limit to what heights we reach;
for we’re all a part of God’s plan.
As a single grain of sand; insignificant;
just a speck of dust in one’s shoe;
but with His power we become magnificent;
for there’s no limit to what God can do.
We are but dust in the face of our adversary;
we don’t need all the sand from the beach;
we become totally out of the ordinary;
amazing, what just one grain can reach.
As a single grain we become inundated;
but with all the others at our side;
the ocean wave is quickly deflated;
and runs back out to sea, to hide.
The single grain can’t do very much;
but with a handful for someone to wrastle;
especially ones who exhibit a touch;
even a child can build a small castle.
I’m a piece of dust on a dusty road;
supporting much travel and trade;
enabling the transport of a heavy load;
or an army conducting a raid.
Where is this winding road to go?
Dear Lord what’s my destiny to be?
I lack the humility required to know;
that I’m one grain of sand called me.
