A Destiny To Recall
A Destiny To Recall
I was destined to die a long time ago;
pushed by a loved one, related;
but the Master demanded it not be so;
and so that death was abated.
The mind recalls what we are to see;
for some thoughts we’re unprepared;
we remember what we want it to be;
so, from trauma, we can be spared.
Some events cause an incurable pain;
altering the course of our destiny;
some lost memories, can lead to gain;
if God has a greater purpose, to be.
As a young child; I was in a walker;
backed up, to the precipice of death;
inattention; I thought was my stalker;
pushing me down; taking my breath.
Suddenly, I awoke; I wasn’t yet dead;
for death was to come another day;
a much greater destiny lay far ahead;
but, temptation still lay in my way.
Years later; it was I; who was tempted;
an evil man was taking my wife;
it became my power; he be exempted;
now, it was I who could take a life.
Side by side, at the precipice we stood;
he was older; and I; more adept;
the stairway was long; steps of wood;
a push; sends him to his death;
I thought of the destiny; I once had;
recalling the pain of my fall;
fearing that guilt become my salve;
and guilt, the destiny I recall.
