A Bump In The Road
A Bump In The Road
I was driving down that road less traveled;
til I hit the proverbial bump in the road;
the jolt I received, made reality unraveled;
and my crash added injuries to my load.
Such unexpected bumps add insult to injury;
embarassment suddenly rises to surface;
which leads me to make an elaborate inquiry:
Are bumps in the road put there on purpose?
If it’s true that everything happens for a reason;
who placed that bump in the middle of the road?
All bumps are given their own special season;
disturbing our comfort zone, is their mode.
Some bumps, occaisionally are paved in asphalt;
assuring that the driver will drive slow;
others, come about through reality’s default;
since destiny had places to go.
Not all of life’s bumps are at all physical;
many are glitches in the flow of thought;
while many others seem almost mystical;
bumps in reality the Master brought.
Many of life’s bumps, seem life threatening;
faith teaches us, in God, all rely;
tho everyone faces times of reckoning;
but, no soul of God, shall ever die.
Death doesn’t exist; it’s just a transition;
your seed for a new life, has been sown;
what’s thought death, is juxtaposition;
death is the bump on the road home.
